Outside our kitchen window, in our large backyard which faces into a large grove of trees, a small birdfeeder hangs from a pole. Each morning as I check the morning news on my laptop and drink a couple of cups of coffee, I watch the finches, cardinals, and other birds eat their morning breakfast from the feed. A group of four or five squirrels scurry around on the ground beneath enjoying the crumbs that the birds drop.
The beauty of God’s creation is beyond words. I find it interesting the many colors of the various birds. The brilliant red of the cardinal, the glowing yellow of the finch, the deep blue of the indigo bunting. Who but a creator could imagine such a wide array of color? Who, but the one who has made all and has a plan for all, would have thought of the importance the color for each in His plan for each of them?
This week, this day, rather than rushing through it, pause, stop, look. See the marvelous creation of God, from the least to the greatest. Until then….
See you in church,
